9-28-23   THOUGHTS

The place of Jesus in the scheme of redemption is at the center!  John 14:6  “Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”  Two passages below say something that must be heard.  John 3:18 & 36 indicate that judgment and the wrath of God abide on  anyone who does not believe in Jesus. The words “judged already” and “the wrath of God abides...” are significant.   These exist in an unsaved condition!  The focus of God’s plan to save man is Jesus the Christ!  The “born again” idea moves a believer from wrath and judgment to everlasting life.  The old words “NO JESUS... NO GOD.  KNOW JESUS... KNOW GOD” are powerful in this context.

John 3:14-21  "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; 15  so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. 16  "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17  "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. 18  "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19  "This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.  20  "For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.  21  "But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God."

36  "He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

John 5:24  "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

My Prayer:
Lord God, we know that You are “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”  We pray for the souls of men.  Give us a mourning and deep concern for those who abide under Your wrath.  Help them, and help us to help them, see that life is in Jesus.  Thank You for the truth that is in Jesus.  Help us that we may stay in the soul saving perspective of eternity.  Remove us from self and the world.    In the name of Jesus,     Amen.
